Propano is a large country estate that was donated in 1525 by the Marquis of Saluzzo to the Cistercian friars of Mombracco, who made it their home. Now part of the property has been transformed in hotel. The restoration took great care over preserving the original ambience, enabling guests to partake of the atmosphere and tranquillity of an old country house. The hotel is situated just outside the town of Saluzzo, in the midst of countryside with the imposing Monviso and its surrounding mountains in the background. The property was built to a square design, and the rooms, the restaurant (open for groups only) and the breakfast room overlook the large inner courtyard, which is also used for open-air banquets and entertainment. The spacious rooms are well-furnished and equipped with all mod-cons. 4 junior suites and 1 elegant suite have been created in the old residential wing, while the agricultural part of the building is now home to an agritourism, offering accommodation in 9 rooms and 1 studio apartment. A swimming-pool, tennis, gym and cycle tracks are all available in the vicinity. Children up to the age of 12 are welcome at no extra charge. A plentiful breakfast is served in an elegant setting, and also outside in summer. Private parking is available for cars and coaches.
