| Day 1 – Friday 16 September: arrival and tour of the Upper Langa |
Arrival in the Langhe and Roero. Checking into chosen accommodation facility.

Panoramic tour of the Upper Langa, with visit to a small sheep farm and tasting of cheeses.

Dinner in a characteristic osteria, tasting delicious Piedmontese fare. Return to accommodation facility, overnight stay.

| Day 2 – Saturday 17 September: market and shopping in Alba, Cheese in Bra |
Buffet breakfast.
Morning stroll around the old centre of Alba, the “City of a 100 Towers”, with the chance to browse among the stalls of the traditional weekly market and the elegant fashion and local produce stores.

Transfer to Bra for the international food & wine event Cheese 2009. An unmissable moment of pleasure, rediscovering flavours of old along with new sensations in the streets of the old town centre, amidst a splendid festival atmosphere.

This year the Great Hall of Cheese presents a unique sensory experience given over to rarities and curiosities from all over the world: more than 100 first-rate specialities, some hard to find because they are only available in limited quantities or come from far away, others made using particular techniques or ingredients. Return to accommodation facility, overnight stay.

Day 3 – Sunday 18 September: the roads of Barolo wine and Pollenzo

Buffet breakfast. Check-out.
Panoramic tour heading for Pollenzo, admiring the magnificent scenery of hills embroidered with vineyards and dotted with towers and castles, and enjoying the unmissable stop-off at the “Belvedere” viewpoint in La Morra. Tour with an audio guide of the historic Grinzane Cavour castle, once the residence of Count Camillo Benso di Cavour, and now home to the Cavour Piedmontese Regional Enoteca, with a tasting of the local wines and the highly-prized Barolo.

Arrival in Pollenzo, a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1997 which is packed with history and culture.

Walk around the old village. Guided tour of the Wine Bank, inside the sumptuous refurbished Agency of Pollenzo complex which is home to the first University of Gastronomic Sciences in the world.
Departure, end of programme.
